Professional statement

Emily Coulombe, LMSW, works with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges. Many of her clients feel stuck in patterns like overthinking, people-pleasing, or difficulty expressing their needs. She has particular experience supporting teens as they navigate identity, peer dynamics, and big, shifting emotions, while also helping adults build more fulfilling and connected relationships.

Her approach is trauma-informed, client-centered, and collaborative. Emily integrates IFS-informed work, CBT, and mindfulness to help clients better understand their thoughts, emotions, and internal patterns. She supports clients in building insight, strengthening coping skills, and shifting patterns that no longer serve them—while fostering a deeper sense of self-compassion, clarity, and confidence.

Emily brings experience from both school-based and private practice settings, where she has worked closely with adolescents and adults across a range of presenting concerns. Her background in relationship-focused work and prevention programming informs her emphasis on communication, boundaries, and empowerment within therapy.

Emily is based in New York and offers both in-person sessions in Manhattan and virtual sessions for clients across the state. She is in-network with Aetna and strives to make therapy a warm, supportive, and accessible space for all clients.

Message to clients

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and you don’t have to have everything figured out to begin. My hope is that you come in as you are—even if that means feeling unsure, overwhelmed, or not totally sure what you want to say yet. We’ll move at a pace that feels right for you, and together we’ll begin to make sense of what’s coming up and what you need.

In our work, you can expect a collaborative, supportive space where we focus on both understanding your patterns and building tools to help you navigate them differently. I value honesty, curiosity, and creating a space where you feel comfortable being yourself. My goal is to help you feel more grounded, more confident, and more connected to yourself and your relationships over time.
