Professional statement

Heather works with individuals, couples, and groups in navigating a wide range of conditions including anxiety, depression, relationship ruptures, trauma, grief and loss, insecure attachment, neurodivergence, and career and life transitions. Her central aim is to help you develop a kind, caring relationship with yourself and with your own inner experience.

Drawing from mindfulness-based methodologies including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindful Self-Compassion, Relational Life Therapy, and Polyvagal Theory, she helps you gain confidence in your capability to regulate your emotions and calm your nervous system. Heather's personal and professional fascination with the science of happiness inspires her approach as a therapist. She incorporates evidence-based interventions from the field of Positive Psychology, and she enjoys helping clients explore their own definitions of happiness, meaning, and purpose.

Heather is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of New York. She received a Master’s degree in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness from New York University. She is a meditation and self-compassion teacher with certifications from the Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Training Program (MMTCP), Mindful Leader, and the Center for Mindful Self-Compassion.
