Professional statement

Jason Powell works with individuals and couples in moments when something important in a relationship needs careful, private attention. Many of his clients are successful in their public lives yet privately feel stuck, disconnected, or uncertain about what is happening between them. They often seek support around infidelity, sexual distance, desire differences, or conversations that have become difficult to have without conflict or withdrawal.

Sessions are unhurried and focused. Jason helps clients slow things down enough to notice patterns, name what has been avoided, and say what has been difficult to say. The work is attentive to both emotional closeness and physical intimacy, with attention to the small, repeated moments where closeness is either reinforced or quietly lost.

In infidelity and repair work, the focus is on telling the truth with devotion, understanding the impact of the decisions that led to the rupture, and deciding how a relationship moves forward in a way that feels steady rather than reactive. Jason approaches this work with discretion, clarity, and respect for the weight of what is at stake.

Jason is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, AASECT Certified Sex Therapist, and AAMFT Clinical Fellow. He is known for a calm presence, careful listening, and an ability to work with sensitive material without rushing, dramatizing, or minimizing what matters.

Message to clients

Most people come to therapy after living with things that have gone unnamed for too long. The strain may appear as distance, tension, or a quiet sense that something important has shifted. Often, it isn’t a lack of care that brings people in, but the absence of a language that doesn’t immediately unravel the conversation.

I work at a deliberate pace. We take time to understand what has been happening between you, where conversations tend to derail, and what has remained unsaid. I have spent years working with couples in the aftermath of infidelity and relational rupture, sitting with the hardest moments and helping people find their way forward. The work is about clarity and direction at a moment when both have been lost.

This is a space where you don’t need to perform or arrive with answers. Over time, therapy becomes a place where language returns, trust in your own perception strengthens, and difficult conversations feel possible again. My hope is that the work leaves you steadier, clearer, and better able to care for what matters, both in your relationship and in yourself.
