Professional statement

I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with immediate openings for individual therapy and private pay relationship counseling. I provide in person sessions in East Greenwich, Rhode Island and telehealth throughout Rhode Island and Connecticut. With over a decade of experience, I help patients who feel stuck in patterns affecting relationships, emotional wellbeing, or important life decisions.

Many of the people I work with have already spent time thinking deeply about what is wrong but still feel uncertain how to create change. My work focuses first on understanding the patterns shaping reactions and relationships, then building practical and manageable changes that support daily life while coping with the new transition. I offer structure when needed, ask thoughtful questions, and help patients move at a pace that feels realistic.

In relationship counseling, I help couples slow down recurring conflict, better understand what is happening underneath difficult interactions, and strengthen the way they communicate and respond to one another. Many couples care deeply about each other but feel frustrated by how quickly conversations become tense, defensive, or unresolved. This often includes understanding how protective reactions and past experiences shape connection during difficult moments, including concerns around intimacy, closeness, or sexual communication when relevant.

I also support individuals processing trauma, anxiety, identity questions, parenting stress, and major life transitions. In addition to therapy, I offer immigration evaluations and clinical supervision and consultation. Outside of work, I enjoy being outdoors, softball, travel, and time with loved ones.

Message to clients

Many people reach out for therapy after spending a long time thinking about what is wrong but still feeling stuck on how to change it. I work with individuals and couples who want to better understand themselves, improve relationships, and respond more intentionally to stress, conflict, or important transitions.

In sessions, we first identify the patterns contributing to distress and explore how those patterns developed and why they continue. Understanding past experiences often helps explain present reactions. From there, we focus on realistic changes that gradually strengthen confidence, communication, and emotional steadiness.

For couples, this often means slowing conflict down, understanding what is happening underneath recurring arguments, and learning how to hear each other more clearly even during difficult conversations. Many couples are not lacking care for one another but struggling with the same conversations becoming painful faster than expected. Often, progress begins when conversations feel slower, clearer, and less driven by defense. I offer private pay relationship counseling in 90 minute sessions to support deeper work around connection, trust, and repeated conflict.

For individuals, therapy often includes practical strategies, reflection, and support while making changes feel manageable. Therapy is a place to take care of yourself and create meaningful change, with room for humor to help the work feel lighter. If this feels like a good fit, I would be glad to connect.

Specialties

Relationship issues - If you are struggling in your relationships, whether with a partner, family member, or friend, therapy is a place to take care of yourself and begin creating meaningful change. I help clients explore patterns, set boundaries, and communicate more effectively. Together, we can identify what you need in your relationships and how to navigate them with greater clarity and confidence.

Anxiety - Anxiety can feel overwhelming, whether it shows up as overthinking, irritability, panic, or difficulty concentrating. I help clients understand how anxiety works, develop tools that fit their lives, and reduce self criticism. In our work, we will build self-awareness and develop strategies that support your emotional well being.

Life transitions - Changes such as starting college, becoming a parent, ending a relationship, or shifting careers can bring up uncertainty, grief, and stress. I support clients through transitional times by providing structure, validation, and practical tools. Therapy offers space to adjust, reflect, and move forward with intention.

Trauma - Trauma may show up as emotional numbness, guilt, shame, fear, or disconnection from others. I help patients work through the effects of trauma at a pace that feels safe and respectful. Our sessions can include insight building, grounding techniques, and support for both emotional and logistical challenges that arise as you heal.

Couples counseling - Couples seek therapy for many reasons, including communication breakdowns, parenting challenges, trust issues, or a desire to feel more connected. I provide a structured space where both partners can feel heard and understood. My approach helps couples clarify needs, improve communication, and strengthen their relationship with honesty and care. Relationship counseling is a private pay service, offering greater flexibility and privacy than insurance-based options.

Self-esteem - Self-esteem issues often involve feeling not good enough, struggling with self-doubt, or putting others needs ahead of your own. I help patients identify where these patterns come from and begin to shift them. Therapy can support you in building self respect, confidence, and the ability to trust your own voice.
