Kara Waltman (she/her) is a Master's level clinician providing both in person and virtual therapy sessions for clients in Massachusetts. She typically centers her work around adolescents and young adults experiencing the complexities of life transitions. Common themes include anxiety, depression, identity formation, trauma, and relationship difficulties. Kara values seeing the client as a whole person, rather than just focusing on the pain they carry.
Kara aims to make therapy a collaborative space. She approaches the work with a relational lens, meaning that sessions with Kara feel like a free-flowing conversation rather than a rigid, structured appointment. She pulls from multiple different therapeutic techniques to create an individualized approach for each of her clients. Additionally, she has a passion for working with members of the LGBTQ+ community. She recognizes the importance of having mental health providers who are involved in the social and political world of being queer, transgender, and/or gender-nonconforming in current day.
With past experience in school counseling, group homes, and hospital-based psychiatric crisis work, Kara has connected with a wide range of clients. If you think Kara may be a good fit for your current needs, you are encouraged to reach out to schedule a 15 minute phone consultation.
