Liz Wenger is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist located in Newport Beach, CA. She works with teenagers, young adults, and adults, including individuals, couples, and families. Many of her clients find themselves unable to open up to their loved ones and talk about their feelings, which can hold them back from feeling fully connected or supported by those around them. They want to work through deep pains that they have but aren’t sure how to begin. Liz specializes in helping clients communicate, whether they’re teenagers navigating high school, couples going through challenges, or new parents who want to grow their families.
To support healthy communication, Liz offers multiple therapy approaches, from psychodynamic therapy to Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy to attachment based therapy. She draws techniques from each type of therapy to provide clients with mental health services that are just right for them and their situations. Her goal is to acknowledge and overcome the roadblocks to connection and to increase confidence and resilience.
Liz earned a Master’s degree in Transpersonal Psychology, with over 25 years of experience as a therapist. She enjoys bringing humor into her sessions and is an astute, empathetic listener. She’s previously worked in healthcare, school, and recovery center settings, bringing expertise to her private practice.
