Nikki Hughs is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor located in WA. She specializes in supporting those who care for others, including first responders, lawyers, healthcare workers, other therapists, and those who have high stakes careers like entrepreneurs. Many of these individuals face heightened stress levels and struggle to find ways to integrate their professional lives and their personal lives to find a healthy balance. Nikki also works with those going through major life changes and those whose relationships are strained by constant conflict.
Nikki supports clients through therapy modalities such as Trauma-informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and more. Clients learn tangible coping strategies that can be used at home or in the workplace to slow down and adjust their emotional reactions, which in the long run can decrease stress levels. She also draws from somatic therapy practices so that clients learn more about how their bodies react to distress, with the aim of focusing both on the mind and the body in therapy sessions. She fosters a warm, empathetic environment with her clients, encouraging them to introspect and reflect in a setting that is judgment free.
Nikki earned a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. She is a certified first responder trained counselor. As a therapist, she provides clients with the space to explore their inner worlds and learn more about themselves, taking those insights into the many different parts of their lives.
