Professional statement

Rodrigo is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master's in Social Work from New York University, offering virtual therapy for adults across California, New York, Florida, and New Jersey.

Rodrigo specializes in trauma, attachment trauma, and the repetitive patterns that show up in relationships ,the cycles that feel impossible to break no matter how much you want things to be different. Much of his work also centers on the relationship between shame and the patterns that keep people stuck, whether that shows up as addiction, sexual compulsivity, difficulties with intimacy, or disconnection in relationships. He welcomes clients from all backgrounds and walks of life, and has a particular expertise working with LGBTQ+ individuals and gay couples, bringing a sex-positive, non-shaming lens to everything he does. His goal is to help clients move toward authenticity and freedom from the coping behaviors that no longer serve them.

Rodrigo is trained in EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, and Internal Family Systems (IFS), approaches that work with both the mind and the nervous system to heal at a deeper level. As a Brazilian-American person of color, he has a personal understanding of immigration, identity, and cultural navigation. He offers sessions in both English and Portuguese.

Message to clients

I believe psychotherapy is a collaborative journey that can help people live more fulfilling lives and build the relationships they truly want. In our work together, my intention is to create a judgment-free space where your personal experience is heard, honored, and supported, a place where you can move toward greater authenticity and meaningful change.

Many people come to therapy feeling stuck, disconnected, or simply knowing that something needs to shift. If you're struggling with depression, anxiety, loneliness, or patterns in relationships that keep repeating, therapy can help you slow down, get curious, and understand yourself more deeply.

I work with individuals and couples from all walks of life, with particular warmth and experience supporting LGBTQ+ individuals and gay couples. Whatever your background, identity, or story, you are welcome here.
