Professional statement

Roua Eltayeib, a Sudanese Muslim-American, provides culturally grounded therapy for Black and Muslim individuals and couples navigating identity, career pressures, and relationship challenges. She works closely with career-driven Black women who feel burned out, disconnected, or overwhelmed by the weight of expectations, helping them untangle patterns, reclaim clarity, and create sustainable, aligned lives. She also supports Muslim couples preparing for marriage or navigating early marital stress, including family pressures, cultural expectations, and misalignment, guiding them toward stronger communication, intimacy, and unity.

Roua’s approach is collaborative, intentional, and practical, blending narrative therapy, emotionally focused strategies, and structured interventions. Clients explore the roots of recurring patterns, process emotions safely, and implement actionable strategies that translate into meaningful, lasting change. She is also a Prepare & Enrich facilitator, providing structured assessments to help couples identify alignment and growth areas, whether through a focused 8-session program or longer-term therapy.

Through her work, Roua creates a safe, culturally aware space where clients feel fully seen, understood, and empowered to step into lives and relationships that reflect who they truly are. She offers virtual sessions for clients in New York and New Jersey, supporting meaningful change wherever clients are.

Message to clients

Life can feel heavy when you’re carrying too much—expectations at work, family pressures, or the weight of your own goals. Maybe you’re a Black woman who’s burned out, feeling stretched thin and unsure how to slow down. Or a Muslim couple navigating engagement or early marriage, wondering if you’re truly aligned amid external pressures. Here, you can pause without judgment.

Together, we’ll uncover what’s driving the stress, tension, or disconnect—whether it’s patterns in your thoughts, habits, or relationships—and practice concrete tools to help you feel grounded, centered, and more in control. Couples can also benefit from Prepare & Enrich, a structured program to map alignment, improve communication, and build a strong foundation for marriage.

I hope that by the end of our sessions, you feel seen, understood, and empowered to move forward with clarity, confidence, and intention. This is your space to reclaim your voice, honor your identity, and create a life or partnership that truly reflects you.
