Professional statement

Kaki Tipler is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker serving adolescents and adults across D.C., Maryland, Idaho, and Wyoming. Her clients are often bright, driven, and thoughtful individuals who may look like they have it all together on the outside but who might feel troubled on the inside. Whether they’re young, single professionals, spouses, parents juggling ambition and burnout, or students navigating identity, purpose, and self-worth, Kaki specializes in helping people slow down, tune in, and re-align with what truly matters to them. She welcomes clients of all identities and backgrounds and believes therapy should be a place where you can show up exactly as you are.

Kaki brings a warm, active, and curious presence to the therapy space—she’s not one to sit back and nod silently. Instead, she weaves together evidence-based tools and deep emotional work to meet each client where they are. Using approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, psychodynamic insight, and relational and emotionally focused frameworks, she helps clients unpack old narratives, break out of unhelpful patterns, and practice new ways of thinking, relating, and being. Her goal isn’t just symptom relief—it’s building a richer, more intentional life. One with more connection, clarity, and room to breathe.

Kaki’s path to private practice includes over a decade of clinical experience in college counseling centers, where she developed a deep understanding of the unique pressures facing young adults. She holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania and has advanced training in anxiety, trauma, and body image work, including time spent in specialized eating disorder treatment centers. Her clinical work is grounded in curiosity, compassion, and a strong belief in each client’s capacity for growth.

Kaki's practice is primarily remote with in person sessions available to clients in the Tetons.
