Professional statement

Timothy Weaver is a Licensed Professional Clinical Mental Health Counselor whose work focuses primarily on Trauma therapy, relationship and couples crisis therapy, somatic therapy, and sex therapy. He works with individuals and couples navigating PTSD, unresolved trauma, emotional overwhelm, anxiety, depression, betrayal, relational rupture, intimacy challenges, sexual concerns, shame, grief, and major life transitions. His work is especially suited for clients seeking deeper healing, greater emotional regulation, improved relationships, and a more embodied sense of stability, intimacy, and self-trust.

Timothy’s therapeutic approach is creative, experiential, trauma-informed, somatic, and holistic. He integrates EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, somatic therapy, relational skill-building, experiential therapy, and practical coping tools to help clients process painful experiences, regulate intense emotions, and understand the deeper patterns shaping their relationships and inner lives. His approach emphasizes the whole person, including emotional, mental, physical, relational, sexual, and spiritual well-being.

Timothy brings extensive somatic and experiential training to his clinical work, including advanced EMDR trauma training, Holotropic Breathwork, aquatic Watsu therapy, Sexological Bodywork, and MAPS training in psychedelic therapy. These modalities inform his ability to work with trauma not only through cognition and insight, but also through the body, nervous system, breath, movement, touch-informed awareness, and expanded states of consciousness. His somatic orientation helps clients reconnect with embodied safety, release stored survival responses, and develop a more integrated relationship with their emotions, boundaries, sexuality, and sense of self.

In relationship and couples crisis work, Timothy helps clients slow down reactivity, clarify underlying needs, communicate more honestly, and navigate painful relational crossroads with greater awareness and compassion. His sex therapy work supports individuals and couples in exploring intimacy, desire, sexual shame, communication, embodied pleasure, and the emotional barriers that can interfere with healthy sexual connection.

Timothy conducts sessions out of Maui primarily through Telehealth with some in-person availability.

Message to clients

When trauma or life’s pressures feel unmanageable and all-consuming, you deserve support that is professional, compassionate, and deeply attuned. I specialize in trauma therapy, PTSD, couples counseling, relationship crisis, somatic therapy, anxiety, depression, sex therapy, and nervous system regulation to support your health and happiness here in Hawai‘i. I know that trauma, anxiety, relationship crisis, or sexual concerns can deeply affect your mood, work, sleep, intimacy, or ability to feel present, and I provide effective therapy that can help you to build nervous system safety and create sustainable change for a better life.

My approach is trauma-informed, somatic, experiential, and compassionate. I provide EMDR therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, CBT tools, somatic therapy, relationship and sex therapy, and nervous system regulation to help adults and couples process trauma, reduce reactivity, repair relationships, and feel more alive in their bodies, hearts and minds.

I believe that within a safe and attuned therapeutic relationship, trauma therapy, somatic therapy and cognitive behavioral tools can help us shift our internal biochemistry — what I sometimes think of as our “inner pharmacy” — so that patterns of fear, shame anger and overwhelm can gradually give way to greater regulation, safety, resilience, and intimacy,
