Professional statement

Virginia Nogales a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), serving clients in Maryland, Virginia & Washington State. She works with individuals, couples, families, parents, and children from diverse multicultural backgrounds. Many of Virginia’s clients seek therapy when they are experiencing relationship conflict, communication breakdowns, parenting challenges, life transitions, trauma-related stress, anxiety, or a sense of emotional disconnection. She is particularly passionate about serving couples and families who want to strengthen relationships, improve communication, and foster deeper emotional bonds. She also has advanced training in couples therapy, family systems, conflict resolution, and Emotion Coaching, with extensive specialization in the Gottman Method.

Virginia is trained in a systemic and integrative approach that includes Narrative Therapies, Emotion Focused Therapy, Virginia Satir’s Communication Approach, and the Gottman Method. These approaches focus on understanding relational patterns, emotional processes, personal narratives, and communication styles in order to create meaningful and lasting change. In session, Virginia emphasizes collaboration, emotional safety, curiosity, and practical tools that clients can apply outside of therapy. This approach supports clients in developing healthier ways of relating, increasing self-awareness, resolving conflict, strengthening intimacy, and building more secure and fulfilling relationships.

Virginia’s therapeutic style is warm, compassionate, genuine, and flexible, with a touch of humor when appropriate. When a client first comes in, she focuses on creating a welcoming, respectful environment while conducting a thoughtful assessment to understand each individual’s unique needs, strengths, and goals, which then guides a personalized treatment plan. Virginia is dedicated to providing a therapeutic relationship that is supportive, empowering, culturally responsive, and grounded in trust.

Dear Future Client,

I’m glad you’re here. Choosing to begin therapy is an important step, and my hope is that our work together feels supportive, respectful, and meaningful.

I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can talk openly about what’s going on in your life and relationships. Therapy is a collaborative process, and our sessions will be tailored to your needs, goals, and pace.

Whether you’re navigating relationship challenges, parenting concerns, life transitions, or personal growth, I look forward to supporting you as you move toward greater clarity, connection, and well-being.

Warmly,

Vicky Nogales
