Professional statement

Vitoria Cottiss, AMFT, supports individuals and couples navigating grief, caregiving roles, major life transitions, and relationship challenges. Many of her clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, emotionally depleted, or stuck in patterns that no longer serve them. Vitoria offers a grounded, compassionate space where clients can slow down, feel deeply understood, and begin to move forward with greater clarity and self-trust.

Her therapeutic approach integrates psychodynamic and relational therapy with mindfulness-based practices. Together, clients explore unconscious patterns, emotional wounds, and relational dynamics that shape how they experience themselves and others. Sessions are collaborative, attuned, and thoughtfully paced, supporting both insight and meaningful, sustainable change.

Vitoria also incorporates experiential approaches informed by psychedelic-assisted therapy, helping clients access deeper self-awareness while remaining safe, supported, and integrated in their day-to-day lives. Her clinical work is informed by experience across community mental health clinics, substance use treatment programs, private school settings, and a psychedelic therapy practice—allowing her to hold complexity with sensitivity, curiosity, and care.

Based in Southern California, Vitoria offers in-person sessions as well as telehealth services throughout California.

Message to clients

I work with individuals and couples facing grief, cancer, caregiving, major life transitions, and relational challenges. Many of my clients arrive feeling stuck, carrying long-held burdens, or unsure how to move forward. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you can slow down, feel heard, and explore what matters most to you.

In our work together, I blend psychodynamic and relational therapy with mindfulness. I help you uncover the patterns shaping your experiences, explore emotional and relational blocks, and develop practical strategies for navigating life and relationships. Sessions are collaborative, attuned, and paced to your needs, allowing insight and growth to emerge naturally.

I also integrate experiential approaches informed by psychedelic-assisted therapy, offering ways to deepen self-awareness and insight while remaining grounded and supported. Whether you’re processing grief, strengthening a partnership, or seeking emotional clarity, I aim to create a space where you feel seen, understood, and supported in uncovering new ways of relating to yourself and others.
