Professional statement

Do you remember a time when you felt truly unburdened and free? Trauma can make every aspect of life—from daily tasks to forming meaningful relationships to pursuing personal goals—feel overwhelming or even impossible. Painful experiences often pull people away from their sense of purpose and create deep feelings of shame, disconnection, and self-doubt.

Whitney Polich works with individuals and couples to understand how past experiences may be shaping present-day patterns, symptoms, and relationships. She helps clients reconnect with their values and build fulfilling, purpose-driven lives. Many individuals who have experienced trauma believe they cannot be helped or feel discouraged after trying traditional talk therapy that did not lead to meaningful change. While talk therapy can be beneficial, trauma is often stored in the body as well as the mind, requiring approaches that address both.

By integrating EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and somatic-focused therapies, Whitney supports clients in developing a deeper awareness of the root causes of their distress while gaining practical tools for lasting healing. Therapy begins with exploring how past experiences may be contributing to current symptoms that interfere with living a rich and peaceful life. From there, Whitney collaborates with each client to create an individualized treatment plan grounded in their unique values, goals, and needs—because effective therapy is never one-size-fits-all.

Through this work, clients cultivate greater self-compassion, insight, and resilience, along with skills they can carry with them long after therapy ends. Whitney is deeply committed to helping clients create meaningful, sustainable change that moves them toward greater clarity, connection, and freedom.

Whitney brings a trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and client-centered approach to her work. She believes that true healing occurs within the therapeutic relationship and strives to create a space of safety, collaboration, and transformation for those ready to move forward.

Message to clients

Welcome—I’m Whitney, a queer trauma-informed therapist offering individual and couples therapy for adults navigating trauma, anxiety, and life transitions. My practice is a supportive, affirming space where you can slow down, feel understood, and begin to heal. I help clients explore how past experiences may be impacting their nervous system, relationships, and sense of self, while offering a deeper dive than traditional talk therapy. My approach integrates EMDR, relational therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and somatic-based approaches to address both emotional and physical patterns related to trauma. Therapy with me is collaborative and tailored to your unique goals, values, and needs—there is no one-size-fits-all approach here. As an LGBTQIA+ clinician, I am committed to creating a safe, compassionate environment where you can build self-trust, deepen self-compassion, and move toward a more grounded, fulfilling life.
