Professional statement

Dr. Yaliu He is a licensed marriage and family therapist who offers both in-person and online sessions in New York. She works with individuals, couples, and families addressing mental health challenges and relationship difficulties. Dr. He is especially passionate about helping couples improve communication and emotional connection, guiding divorced parents through co-parenting, and supporting adolescents and young adults coping with depression, anxiety, stress, or family conflicts.

She practices Integrative Systemic Therapy, which blends various therapeutic approaches to best meet each client’s unique needs. This flexible method allows her to tailor strategies, trying different techniques until finding the right fit for you. Rather than seeing problems as existing solely within individuals, she focuses on clients’ interaction patterns, family history and sociocultural backgrounds to gain a deeper understanding of them and their concerns.

Dr. He's presence is warm, caring, and optimistic. Fluent in both English and Mandarin, she provides culturally affirming care to clients from diverse backgrounds, including LGBTQ+ individuals. She sees clients in person in Scarsdale and virtually throughout New York State. In addition to her private practice, Dr. He trains the next generation of therapists as a marriage and family therapy professor and has published extensively on relationships, parenting, and child mental health.
