Dr. Jeffrey Lawton is a licensed marriage and family therapist who works with adults feeling stuck in patterns related to anxiety, ADHD, overthinking, burnout, relationship stress, and major life transitions. Many clients are professionals, entrepreneurs, creatives, caregivers, and high-responsibility individuals who appear capable on the outside but privately struggle with rumination, emotional overwhelm, difficulty focusing, or patterns that no longer serve them. He also works with clients navigating intrusive thoughts, impulse-driven behavior, emotional eating, health-related habits, and the psychological side of behavior change.
Dr. Lawton’s approach is structured, collaborative, and insight-oriented. Sessions focus on understanding the patterns driving behavior while developing practical tools to improve focus, decision-making, emotional regulation, and relationship dynamics. His work often integrates psychological insight with behavioral strategies, helping clients translate awareness into sustainable change rather than relying on generic advice or short-term fixes.
With doctoral training in psychology and graduate training in nutrition science, Dr. Lawton brings a multidisciplinary perspective to mental health. His work is informed by behavioral psychology, applied neuroscience, nutrition-informed care, and depth-oriented psychotherapy. He has a particular interest in how attention, appetite, impulse regulation, identity, and self-trust interact over time, including for clients navigating GLP-1 medications, metabolic change, and the emotional impact of rapid physical transformation.
Dr. Lawton’s practice is private pay and intentionally limited in size to allow for thoughtful, individualized care. He offers secure telehealth throughout California, with in-person sessions available in Beverly Hills and Palm Springs and select in-person dates in San Francisco.
